Below I've tried to answer a few questions that I have been asked...
I have a great idea for a picture book. How do I get it published?
Yay, good for you. Unfortunately there are a million other people who also want to get published. I don't want to discourage you but the competition is tough. Make sure your story is the best that it can be and do your homework before sending it to a prospective publisher. There are several great books about the children's book industry. I suggest you read up a bit. Also join The Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators (SCBWI) they are a great resource for someone wanting to break into the children's publishing field.
Will you create some illustrations for me so I can submit my story to a publisher?
Thank you. I'm very flattered. But, unless you are an illustrator as well as an author, publishers don't want to see illustrations with your manuscript. Just submit your manuscript. Editors like to have the option of choosing an illustrator themselves.
How do you create your artwork?
Most of the artwork featured on my website was created using Adobe Photoshop using techniques that are very similar to traditional mediums. For more information about my process check out these blog entries...
