Below I've tried to answer a few questions that I get asked alot:
I have a great idea for a picture book. How do I get it published?
Yay, good for you. Unfortunately there are a million other people who also want to get published. I don't want to discourage you but the competition is tough. Make sure your story is the best that it can be and do your homework before sending it to a prospective publisher. There are several great books about the children's book industry. I suggest you read up a bit. Also join The Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators (SCBWI) they are a great resource for someone wanting to break into the children's field.
Will you create some illustrations for me so I can submit my story to a publisher?
Thank you. I'm very flattered. But, unless you are an illustrator as well as an author, publishers don't want to see illustrations with your manuscript. Just submit your manuscript. Editors like have the option of choosing an illustartor themselves.
How do you create your artwork?
All the artwork featured on my website was created using Adobe Photoshop. For more information about my process visit my blog.
